accessibility statement

1. Our commitment
klyo is committed to making both our website (tryklyo.io) and the klyo mobile application usable by everyone - including people with visual, motor, cognitive, and hearing disabilities.
Accessibility isn’t a checkbox for us; it’s part of the discipline. The whole point of klyo is that goodshouldn’t require effort.
2. Standards we follow
We aim to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the current internationally-recognised standard for web accessibility.
For users in Israel, we comply with Israeli Standard IS 5568 - the local implementation of WCAG - as required by the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Act (Service Accessibility Regulations, 2013).
3. Accessibility tools built into the site
A floating accessibility button (bottom-right corner of every page) opens a panel with one-click controls for:
- Text size - increase or decrease site-wide font size from 85% to 150%.
- High contrast mode - strengthens text colours and borders for users with low vision.
- Highlight links - underlines and visually emphasises every link on the page.
- Underline headings - adds visible underlines to all heading hierarchy for clearer structure.
- Readable font - switches to a system sans-serif font, removes italics and tight letter-spacing.
- Pause animations - stops all motion across the site for users with vestibular sensitivities.
Your settings are remembered across visits via your browser’s local storage (no account required).
4. Built-in accessibility features
- Keyboard navigation:every interactive element is reachable via Tab. A “skip to content” link appears when you first press Tab.
- Screen-reader compatible: we use semantic HTML, ARIA labels on icon-only buttons, and meaningful alt text on every image.
- Colour contrast: all body text and most UI text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 minimum on body text, 3:1 on large text).
- Respects system preferences: if you have
prefers-reduced-motionenabled at the OS level, animations are automatically disabled. - Mobile-friendly tap targets: every button is at least 44×44px, the WCAG-recommended minimum.
5. Known limitations
We’re honest about what isn’t perfect yet. Current known issues:
- Some decorative animations on the homepage may flash subtly during section transitions. Use the “pause animations” toggle to disable them entirely.
- Third-party download badges (Apple App Store, Google Play) follow the design specifications of those vendors. We have limited control over their visual contrast.
When the mobile app launches, this page will be updated with the accessibility commitments specific to iOS and Android.
6. Report an accessibility issue
If you find a barrier we haven’t addressed - or you have a suggestion to make klyo more accessible - please tell us. We commit to responding within 5 business days.
